Foundations of Game Programming

Game development for programmers. This course introduces the foundational programming principles and practices used to create interactive experiences and playable games. Students will learn to build game prototypes by programming core mechanics and systems in a popular game engine, such as Unity or Unreal. Core topics will focus on the essential programming concepts for game development such as controlling game characters and objects with player input; implementing game physics, movement, forces, colliders, and triggers; creating and managing game objects at runtime (spawning and destroying); and developing user interfaces for menus, heads-up displays (HUDs), and player feedback.
