Catalog description

This course is designed to prepare future educators to meet Ohio’s 3-hour Reading and Content Standards. The course will prepare teacher candidates to apply evidence-based practices aligned with the science of reading in comprehension, vocabulary, and writing in content area instruction, as well as identify and develop materials that allow a diverse range of students to access content area texts and build content knowledge. Teacher candidates will learn to recognize symptoms of dyslexia and to refer students for appropriate services. Approved for distance education. Prerequisite(s): Junior standing and EDFI 3020
