Catalog description
This course will provide the student with current information related to healthcare technologies as a method of delivering high quality patient care. Students will explore healthcare information systems, decision support systems, electronic health records, report generation for regulatory requirements, and methods to continually evaluate data for patient outcomes. The importance of ethics, data security, confidentiality, telecommunication, and interprofessional communication are emphasized. The student will have a practice experience through interviewing informatics leaders in various healthcare settings. Prerequisite(s): Admission to RN to BSN program and NURS 3028
