Essentials of Primary Care Nursing

Catalog description

This course will demonstrate the influence of primary care nursing on the health outcomes of individuals in vulnerable/underserved populations. Core competencies of Primary Care & Public Health Nursing standards of practice prepare the generalist entering practice with a primary care focus. Exploration of core principles and roles of primary care nursing, the importance of interprofessional collaboration in addressing the mental health and social needs of patients, care management, and coordination, and the role of technology.
