Catalog description

This course provides the student with an introduction to the systematic approach to health care for individuals across the lifespan from various cultural backgrounds. Concepts of communication, space, social organization, time, environmental control, and biological variations will be examined. Application of clinical judgment within the context of various cultures will be explored. Students will discuss the impact of issues such as social justice, human dignity, respect, health care systems, information management, patient safety and quality of care, geriatrics, disease prevention, disease management, and LGBTQ+. Prerequisite(s): Accepted into Nursing Major Corequisite(s): Junior Level, BSN 1 Courses
