Catalog description
This course will focus on healthcare needs of the community, population, and public health. Students will address disease prevention and health promotion in populations across the lifespan. Concepts of social justice, advocacy, determinants of health, and resource management will be examined. Application of clinical judgment in the community setting will be explored. Issues such as substance abuse, mental healthcare, natural disasters, and violence on diverse communities will be discussed. Approved for distance education. Prerequisite(s): Junior Level, BSN 1 Courses Corequisite(s): Junior Level, BSN 2 Courses
