Catalog description
This course introduces the student to fundamental concepts of professional nursing practice. Students begin to use assessment skills and the nursing process as a foundation for clinical judgement. Emphasis is placed on provision of safe, evidence-based and holistic nursing care. Laboratory and clinical experiences provide opportunities for development of fundamental nursing skills and competencies. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Mercy Dual Degree BSN nursing program, completion of or enrollment in NURS 1015 or NURS 1017 . Corequisite(s): NURS 2595 .
