Catalog description

Introduction to the music education profession. The curriculum is designed to stimulate student thinking regarding the importance of music in human life and its various roles in the American education system. Includes observation of a variety of teaching situations at all levels. College/program eligibility requirements must be met, and student must have a valid Ohio Pre-Service Teacher permit in place. Lec: 45 hours. Required of all sophomores. Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing in music; overall GPA of 2.5, GPA of 3.0 or above in courses with a MUED prefix, and satisfactory progress in all Music Core courses taken prior to MUED 2400.
