Catalog description

This course uses a problem-solving framework to investigate rational numbers and operations, the connections between arithmetic and algebra, and geometry and measurement. Emphasis will be placed on using multiple representations in mathematics, developing understanding of mathematical structures, problem solving, and fostering mathematical communication skills needed for teaching. Open only to education majors and pre-majors. Prerequisite(s): grade of C or better in MATH 1150 , MATH 1190 , MATH 1220 , MATH 1280 , MATH 1310 , or MATH 1340 .
