Replaying the Past

Catalog description

This course is based on the Reacting to the Past (RTTP) model, which uses an intense, fun, role-playing format to replicate historical contexts in which major ideas acquired signifiance. RTTP fosters historical empathy, feeling how people in the past felt, especially people very different from us; and a sense of contingency, comprehending that events could have taken many turns, rather than only the path we now know them to have taken.
