Catalog description

An introduction to the foundations of historical writing (presentation of primary and secondary materials, citations, argumentation, analysis, etc.). The craft of writing is a skill that everyone can improve upon. Historical writing is a specialized field that involves bringing together historical research and reading in the historiography to analyze primary and secondary material and then convey that information to the selected audience in the most effective way possible. This course is primarily intended for history majors and will be paired with one 2000-level History course taken in the same semester.
