Catalog description
This course will delve into the necessary skills (i.e. reimbursement, budgeting, claims processing, and financial fraud and abuse) for health care administrators pursuing careers in long-term services and supports (i.e. nursing homes, assisted living, home care, hospice, and hospitals). This course will examine government payer sources, third-party reimbursement, regulatory oversight, coding and electronic medical records. Credit cannot be earned for both GERO 4500 and GERO 5500. Approved for distance education.
