Catalog description

Fall, Summer. Global climate change presents significant challenges for human health and well-being. This course applies concepts and methodologies from the discipline of geography to familiarize students with human-environment interactions in terms of climate change and the influence these interactions have on public health. Special emphasis will be placed on using applied analytical tools, such as GIS, to analyse climate change-related health problems. Special attention is also given to the way that the processes of globalization and urbanization have impacted health locally and internationally. Approved for distance education. Credit cannot be earned for both GEOG 4530 and GEOG 5530.
