Catalog description
This course will examine Medieval literary texts produced from 1066 to 1475. Readings will include poetry and prose depicting kings and queens, courtiers, knights, laborers, monsters, and saints. Students will situate these representations within the larger intellectual and sociopolitical currents that shaped Medieval literature and culture. Topics may vary and students may repeat the course twice (6 credit hours). Prerequisite(s): One of the English Studies in Historical Context survey classes: ENG 2610 , ENG 2620 , ENG 2640 , ENG 2650 , ENG 2110 , ENG 2120 , ENG 2740 , or ENG 2750 .
