Catalog description

Provides initial teacher dual licensure candidates, grades PK-5 with the knowledge and skills to help students access, comprehend, and respond critically to reading across the curriculum and to communicate in the manner of specific disciplines. Teacher candidates (TC) will use methods and materials that enhance learning for a diverse range of students in multiple content areas; assess the readability of content area texts, plan and implement lessons that support strategic reading and writing, and address comprehension difficulties through individualized teaching. TCs will learn to use RTI systems to address dyslexia.
