Catalog description

This lecture and lab-based course prepares teacher candidates to teach diverse learners. Introduces inclusive practices by using professional standards to examine foundations of early childhood and early childhood special education. Emphasizes diversity in today’s schools with respect to ability, language, culture, and ethnicity. Explores historical, legislative, social and philosophical foundations of early childhood and early childhood special education. Includes field experience opportunities to observe and assist in inclusive early childhood classrooms, preschool through grade 5.
