Introduction to Teaching Elementary Social Studies

Catalog description

This course provides students with an introduction to organizational and curricular issues in teaching social studies kindergarten through grade 5. It focuses on understanding the interrelated nature of the key social studies disciplines of history, economics, government, and geography. Key concepts in social studies education will be addressed such as curriculum standards and content knowledge expectations. Prerequisite(s): C or better in EDTL 2010 and cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
