Modeling with Mathematics and Using Technology in the Secondary Classroom

Catalog description

The course provides AYA Mathematics preservice teachers learning opportunities for modeling with mathematics, mathematics action technologies, and expanding mathematics pedagogical content knowledge of teaching upper secondary concepts involving trigonometry and calculus. Connections are made among standards in high school mathematics, inquiry practices, the use of mathematics specific instructional technologies including CAS, Exploratory Analysis, and Dynamic Algebra and Geometry software. Prerequisite(s): EDTL 2010 , “C” or higher in MATH 2320 and EDTL 2742 , and sophomore status.
