Introduction to Secondary Mathematics

Catalog description

An examination of teaching and learning in secondary mathematics classrooms. Included is review of content typically taught in the secondary mathematics curriculum, with particular focus on probability. An introduction to mathematics standards and exploration of the role of the teacher. All coursework is connected to field experiences in a secondary mathematics classroom. One two-hour lecture and one three-hour lab in grade-level school setting. Requires FBI/BCI background checks valid throughout the semester of enrollment.
