Introduction to Teaching Middle Grades Mathematics

Catalog description

An examination of teaching and learning in middle grades mathematics classrooms. Included is a review of content typically taught in the middle grades mathematics curriculum, with particular focus on topics from statistics and probability. An introduction to mathematics standards and exploration of the role of the teacher. One two-hour lecture and one two-hour lab in a middle school setting. Requires FBI & BCI background checks valid throughout semester of enrollment.
