Introduction to Teaching Middle Grades Language Arts

Catalog description

Fall, Spring. An introduction to language arts in grades 4-9. Topics include the nature of language arts, an introduction to curriculum standards, inquiry-based learning, lesson planning fundamentals, and resources. Open only to middle childhood majors with a language arts concentration. One two-hour lecture and one two-hour lab in middle school setting. Requires FBI and BCI background checks valid throughout semester of enrollment.
