Introduction to Teaching Middle Grades Science

Catalog description

Fall, Spring. An introduction to teaching science in grades 4-9. Topics include the nature of science, introduction to curriculum standards, inquiry-based learning, the 5-E lesson model, safety, and more. Open only to Middle Childhood Education majors with a concentration in science. Approved for distance education. One two-hour lecture and one two-hour lab in middle school setting. Requires FBI and BCI background checks valid throughout semester of enrollment.
