Catalog description
Fall, Spring. This course offers focused exploration of teaching adolescents in the middle and high school grades. Topics include middle school history, philosophy, and goals; adolescent development; developmentally responsive curriculum; instruction and assessment strategies; impact of diversity on teaching and learning; approaches to organizing classrooms and managing students. Includes 2 hours lecture and one three-hour lab. Requires FBI and BCI background checks valid throughout semester of enrollment. Prerequisite(s): Completion of EDTL 2010 with a “C” or better; sophomore status. Corequisite(s): EDFI 3020
