Survey of government intervention into the economy, and government taxation and spending. Market failures, and government responses to them. Economic models of voting and public choice. Analysis of income, payroll, and excise taxation. Analysis of government spending on entitlements and social insuarance. Prerequisite(s): ECON 2000 or ECON 2020 , or consent of instructor.
