Catalog description

Mediation is the intervention of a third party to assist those in conflict to determine their own resolution. This course is designed for undergraduate and graduate students as a capstone experience for the undergraduate and graduate interpersonal conflict certificate. Students will examine important interpersonal communication concepts, theories, and applications as they relate to mediating interpersonal conflict. To that end, we will focus on mediation theory, models, and skills with the aim of increasing our understanding and application of effective mediation skills. Prerequisite(s): COMM 2070 or COMM 3060 and COMM 4040
