Catalog description

This is the capstone experience for students in the Communication Major. Students will use their knowledge from their previous SMC coursework to write and present a research paper. In their course, students will work through the elements of a research paper from conceptualization to presentation including design, research, theoretical framework, audience considerations, literature review, peer review, and conference-style presentation. The research project serves as the Signature Work requirement in the Communication Major. This is the culminating course in the Communication Integrative Learning Core. Prerequisite(s): Junior or Senior standing and COMM 3000 or Instructor Permission.
