Catalog description

This course covers a general overview of polymer science and engineering including: polymerization techniques including biopolymers and their characterization, industrial, biomedical and optoelectronic applications. Students will learn design principles to achieve specific functions from polymers such as structure-property relationships, recycling/upcycling, device fabrication, and gain a global perspective of polymer influence on society. This course includes critical thinking analysis and experiential learning with local industries. Cannot receive credit for both CHEM 4670 and CHEM 5670. Prerequisite(s): C or better in CHEM 3410 or CHEM 3060. Corequisite(s): CHEM 3440 or instructor approval
