Catalog description

Aural rehabilitation is the process of identifying and treating children and adults with hearing loss. Students in this course will learn culturally sensitive approaches for maximizing individuals’ auditory and/or manual communication. These include hearing aids and other assistive listening devices, and strategies such as auditory training, speechreading, and signing systems. Prerequisite(s): CDIS major or permission of department chair. Credit cannot be earned for both CDIS 4610 and CDIS 5610.
