Catalog description

This course provides a comprehensive exploration of genomics. Key topics include an overview of genomes, comparative genomics, basic bioinformatics, and functional genomics. Students will engage in the analysis of phage genomes, working to identify genes and assign specific functions to individual phage. The data collected will be incorporated into the national Actinobacteriophage Database by Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) and later published on the public GenBank database.
