Catalog description

Advanced Prototyping and Product Design builds upon the skills and concepts developed in ARTS 2910 and ARTS 3931 , advancing students’ ability to translate ideas into refined, functional, and contextually engaged prototypes. The course emphasizes complex material investigations, iterative design processes, and interdisciplinary approaches to fabrication. Students integrate digital and manual techniques to explore innovation in applied and speculative design contexts. Projects support the development of independent design strategies, documentation, and presentation methods that prepare students for professional practice in contemporary art, design, and industry environments. Prerequisite(s): ARTS 3931 or consent of instructor.
