Catalog description

Material Practices in Sculpture expands upon skills learned in the Sculpture program’s introductory class, exploring a wide range of sculptural practices and materials. Students develop technical fluency through mold making, cold casting with latex and silicone, and working with resins, plasters, and cementitious materials, alongside continued experimentation with soft materials, additive and subtractive woodworking, and metal fabrication. Emphasis is placed on material exploration, mixed-media integration, and critical consideration of how materials shape form, meaning, and experience in physical sculptural objects, whether singular or multiples.
