Catalog description

This course explores how brands in every product sector are creating original content for multi-platforms to address brand values, social issues, and cultural trends. Brand-funded stories rely on traditional narrative elements common to other popular visual media formats, such as entertainment films, non-fiction documentary, radio podcasts, and news features. Students will learn the foundations of story structure and basic script writing. They will learn basic media production terms and functions as related to brand messaging. Students will study current trends in brand-funded films and docuseries and learn about media production agencies that are involved in this transformative communication strategy. Prerequisite(s): ADV 1010 or approval of instructor.
