Introduction to the basic “language of business” as represented by accounting terminology and principles. The course will examine the purpose of financial accounting and its function in business with emphasis on the preparation, use and interpretation of financial statements created for external decision makers. Approved for distance education. Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing or consent of the department.
