Catalog description

Teaches theoretical and practical science-based animal production and management systems; principles of nutrition, reproduction, economics, and breeding and selection of beef cattle, swine, sheep, poultry, goats, fish and other specialty animal enterprises. Includes management practices, marketing, housing, and mitigation of environmental impacts with emphasis on profitable business enterprises for small to medium sized producers and collaborative opportunities to expand profitability for traditional enterprises. Introduces emerging technologies influencing production practices and new products. Lecture 3 hours per week. Total 3 hours per week.
