Preparing for Academic and Student Success (PASS) is a first year, first semester course students majoring in the Associates of Arts or Associates of Science (A.A./A.S.) Transfer Degree Program at Blackhawk Technical College (BTC). The PASS course is a one-credit hour seminar course that must be taken in the first semester of entry to the A.A./A.S. University Transfer Degree Program. The PASS course will introduce topics and skills that will promote success in the A.A./A.S. transfer degree program. Topics include but are not limited to, accessing/utilizing BTC resources, DEIB (diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging) advocacy, time management, financial planning/budgeting, study/test taking skills, use of BTC technologies, and planning future academics/transfer to a four-year Institution. Upon completion of this course, students will have achieved proficiency in the course topics, which will be applied throughout the A.A./A.S. transfer degree program.
