2 cr. hrs.; 2 lecture hours; 0 lab hours per week Prerequisite: Enrollment in the Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technology program or instructor consent This course reviews current topics in veterinary medicine and surgery, and large animal production practices. Designed to assist students in developing life-long learning skills, which they will use to critically evaluate the internet and other reference media as a source of information (peer-reviewed or refereed information versus non-peer-reviewed materials). Emotions, opinions, debates, and a brief introduction to laws and ethics in veterinary practice and animal agriculture will be explored.
