Catalog description
3 cr. hrs.; 2 lecture hours; 2 lab hours per week. Prerequisite: Enrollment in the Veterinary Technology program This course is a survey of major characteristics and life functions of common bacteria, viruses, prions, fungi, and other organisms in veterinary medicine. Emphasis will be on disease-causing entities and zoonosis will be discussed where applicable using problem-based scenarios. General and diagnostic parasitology will be covered. Common parasites in companion animals, livestock, and humans will be studied.
