Small Animal Health Care I

Catalog description

3 cr. hrs.; 2 lecture hours; 2 lab hours per week. Prerequisite: Enrollment in the Veterinary Technology program An introduction to the management, husbandry, and basic veterinary needs and care of small animal species, with emphasis on the dog and cat. Housing, sanitation, and basic dietary requirements of small animals are discussed. Techniques for proper handling and restraint, administering medications, and specimen collection are included.
