3 cr. hrs.; 3 lecture hours; 0 lab hours per week. Prerequisite: Successful completion of ENG 031; OR appropriate placement score in English and Reading; OR Concurrent enrollment in ENG 101 or ENG 051/101C. A survey of several ethical theories of human character, motivations, actions, and consequences, such as utilitarianism, duty ethics, and virtue ethics. There is a focus on evaluating the merits of the theories as well as their application to a broad range of moral issues. IAI: H4 904
