3 cr. hrs.; 3 lecture hours; 0 lab hours per week. IS 200 is an interdisciplinary examination of global issues using perspectives from two or more of the following disciplines: history, economics, sociology, anthropology, psychology and/or political science. It introduces students to various disciplines within the social sciences as well as the approaches used by social scientists in seeking to understand global issues. Students consider major issues facing the world today, including problems related to globalization, environment/climate, population growth, health, human rights, security, crime and terrorism.
