Catalog description

3 cr. hrs.; 3 lecture hours; 0 lab hours per week. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 150 "C" or better, or concurrent enrollment in BIOL 150; and Program Director approval Health Information Management students work in diverse healthcare settings, including clinics, medical offices, and billing departments. This course introduces basic human anatomy and explores associated disease processes. Emphasis is placed on recognizing signs and symptoms for early detection, as well as understanding common treatments and clinical implications. The course is designed to support both Medical Assistant and Coding students in developing foundational knowledge relevant to healthcare practice.
