5 cr. hrs.; 5 lecture hours; 0 lab hours per week. Prerequisite(s): ESL Program Coordinator consent This course is designed to give students extensive practice reading unmodified college texts and essays. It continues to increase the length of complexity of reading required of students both inside and outside of class. Particular attention is paid to text structure and organization. Students are required to participate in discussions in which they critically analyze the author's approach to the articles they read. Students continue to develop vocabulary in much the same way as outlined in Reading I. They are particularly encouraged to develop a personal inventory of vocabulary based on extensive reading passages.
