5 cr. hrs.; 5 lecture hours; 0 lab hours per week. Prerequisite(s): ESL Program Coordinator consent This course is designed to develop vocabulary and reading skills at the intermediate level. Students will improve comprehension by learning to process sentence patterns that combine ideas, by reading for the main idea and the supporting details. Students will reinforce comprehension and retention of ideas through outlining and summarizing. Students will also expand their vocabulary by learning to use context and by learning word families and affixation. An introduction to library resources is also part of this course.
