3 cr. hrs.; 3 lecture hours; 0 lab hours per week. Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of ENG 031: or appropriate placement score in English and Reading This course provides an introduction to educational professions and the system of education within the United States. This course will expose students to knowledge and skills necessary for educators to embody the dispositions of the profession, including but not limited to historical, philosophical, social, legal, and ethical issues in a diverse society. Ten hours of observation in a K–12 classroom is required. A background check is required.
