Catalog description

3 cr. hrs.; 3 lecture hours; 0 lab hours per week. Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of ENG 031; or Appropriate placement score in English and Reading This course studies the principles involved in planning, implementing and evaluating developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children. The course focuses on relationships between developmental theory, philosophy, and practice. Development of curriculum based on the needs and interests of young children including those who are culturally, linguistically, and ability diverse. The analysis of a wide range of early childhood curriculum models is emphasized.
