3 cr.hrs.; 3 lecture hours; 0 lab hours per week. Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of ENG 031; or Appropriate placement score in English and Reading This course provides a general overview of the history, theory and foundations of early childhood education. Topics include developmentally appropriate practices, professionalism and ethics, program types, career options, and inclusive environments. 10 hours of observation in a licensed early childhood setting are required. A current physical, TB test, background check and/or fingerprinting may be required.
