Catalog description
Prerequisite: CHEM 101. Topics include structure, bonding, molecular properties, reactivity and nomenclature of alkanes, cycloalkanes, alkenes, and alkynes; stereochemistry, alkyl halides, reaction mechanism, nucleophilic substitution and elimination, conjugated dienes, benzene, aromaticity and electrophilic and nucleophilic aromatic substitution. 4 lecture hours; 3 lab hours per week.
