Catalog description
This course is a review of the legal aspects applicable to health information. The course focuses on the health record as a legal document, legal principles, patient rights/advocacy issues, definition and application of professional ethics, privacy, and release of information and confidentiality of health information. Student outcomes include demonstration of the use of legal vocabulary and application of release of information guidelines. PREREQUISITE: HIT 153
