Catalog description

This course introduces cultural transformations occurring in literary translation. We will explore literary contact, mutual influence, and transculturation in different time periods across the globe. Key concepts and debates in literary translation will be discussed. Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of central issues covered, such as relationships between nations, power relations, dissemination of literature, identity construction, and globalization. Offered regularly.
