Portfolio Development
Binghamton University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course facilitates the development of a representative portfolio of a student’s creative work in design and technical theatre, as well as job application materials and interview skills necessary to the pursuit of further academic study, certifications, or professional work. Students create cohesive digital portfolio presentations reflective of their best work to date, as well as some physical presentation materials. This includes process samples as well as finished work for both conceptual and realized projects. Attention is given to creating an outline for future academic education and/or professional work in arts and entertainment that takes into account personal and professional goals as well as financial planning. Students will explore avenues to pursue job connections, job postings, internships, apprenticeships, and further training in their field of interest. Preparation and practice for professional interviews is emphasized. Offered every other fall semester. Prerequisites: One upper level design/technical course.
